Sell, upgrade, go deeper
Bring your haul to the surface, sell it, and spend the gold on sharper pickaxes, a bigger bag, armor against heat and cold, and a camp with chests and a water barrel.
Blow it up
Light the fuse and step back
When the rock gets tough, place a stick of dynamite, run, and watch the tunnel crumble. Whatever does not fit in your bag stays on the ground for later.
